Q.  What does the “Salt Saving Operation” mean to me?

A.  Rainsoft uses the state of the art and most efficient methods to regenerate, or clean, your filer media. Our extra steps designed into the regeneration cycle means you have one of the cheapest to operate water treatment systems in the world. Savings on salt of only $50.00 a year for the next 40 years is $2,000 saved. And it's more on hard water!.

Q.  Will the RainSoft unit restrict my flow rate in the showers?

A.   No. RainSoft uses extra large porting throughout so as to have only negligible restrictions, usually not noticeable without sensitive pressure gauges.

Q.   How does the system work?

A.   RainSoft's quality filter media screens unwanted substances that are simply back-washed down the drain, and at the same time uses ion exchange technology to replace cations (positively charged substances) in your water that cause bath tub ring, spots on glasses and silverware, iron staining, shower scum and other problems, with simple sodium. Not salt, just the sodium atom.

Q.   What is the finance charge is we finance the system?

A.   Finance charges are set up by the lender, not RainSoft. Contact your dealer for details.

Q.   What about maintenance charges?

A.   The Lifetime warranty replaces defective parts. See Warranty for details. See your dealer for service and/or truck charges.

Q.   Don't other manufacturers also have a Lifetime warranty?

A.   Yes, but usually only on the tanks. RainSoft has a lifetime warranty on defects in manufacture on the filter media too! Other, lesser resins break down after a short time, often only a few years, due to thermal shock and chlorine deterioration. RainSoft also has a lifetime warranty on all the moving parts of the valve, not just the valve body, which is rather like getting a warranty on the engine block in your car, but none of the moving parts. RainSoft also offers a full five year warranty on electrical parts, and an additional five years, pro rata. These features and warranty can save you several thousands of dollars over a lifetime of enjoying RainSoft luxury water.

Q.   What does my system remove from the water?

A.   RainSoft has several hundred products for home and industry. The Conditioners are designed with various filter media to remove small amounts of sediment down to about 30 microns. (For comparison, bacteria are 5 to 8 microns in size.) In addition, it filters, polishes, clarifies, and removes calcium, calcium carbonate, and iron. Lead and other heavy metals are also greatly reduced, along with manganese and other contaminants that make your water “hard” and cause bath tub ring, toilet bowl ring, soap scum, water heater build up and other problems. It provides you with RainSoft luxury water for life! Carbon is there to reduce Chlorine, as well as taste and odors as well as many volatile organic compounds that could be in your water. Carbon should be replaced to keep your water the best. Contact your dealer for details on your water supply. Drinking units reduce chlorine, sediment, colors, taste and odor, and high percentages of bacteria, depending on the system you have chosen. Iron filters are designed by your dealer or representative, to remove or reduce iron in various forms such as ferric, ferrous, colloidal, and even stubborn iron bacteria. Sediment filters are designed by your Rep or Dealer to reduce or remove various sizes and kind of sediment based on your flow rates, and seasonal changes in your water supply.

Q.   Why does my skin feel so silky and smooth after bathing?

A.   RainSoft removes the contaminants, rock and debris in your water that make sticky soap scum, or bathtub ring. Without it, your skin will feel naturally smooth, soft and silky. Most of our clients feel they can greatly reduce the amount of lotion they use.
